The Mock Event

Mock Event. Sounds close to MOB-EVENT when you pronounce it but it is not alright? Like any other thing in the world, before the real-thing, we run the proposed event and see if its good enough or to say perfect and ready to be seen at the real stage. Amend if its not perfect, decline if its not worth the spot in the event. That’s all about the mock event, kinda.

As for this, Ms. Lim (our lecturer/advisor) set a date and venue for us to present or to say to run the “event”. For the activities team and all others that are involved, it’s a big day for them as this is the day to IMPRESS so that they don’t end up DEPRESS. Time ticks, and the clock rings. 0830 Saturday it is, the crew all rushes in to location to do their set-ups according to F.L.O.R.A which stands for; Forest, Land, Ocean, River and Air.

*dud cha..dud cha..boom boom cha..*(background song usually played in fashion shows)
The arrival of the crew which we have no idea why it looks like they’re doing catwalk

The set ups
WHILE some are setting up their respective booths, some are still repairing, creating, gluing the props for the mock not forgetting that time is ticking, and is running out as THE CRITIQUE (Ms. Lim) will soon arrive and have a look at it.

The ones that are still preparing the props..

Like any other place, there will always be a joker fooling around making atmosphere a lil-less tensed.

The joker, and yes, our course rep

“Stage set, lights on, let the music play and lets start the show!” nah…not like that. Its verdict time and all of them are pretty worried about it as all their hard work will be judged and criticized and maybe applaud.

THE CRITIQUE..and yes indeed..K O for fellow crew..

The review..and poor BEN (3rd pic)..got shot there on the spot..

A few items that will be on event day..this is all I can unveil..come to the event for more and I bet you won’t regret coming as there will be better ones to see.

AFTER the mock event, Ms. Lim shares a bit more to the exhibitors as there are gaps for improvement and amendment to be done so that we could present YOU GUYS OUT THERE an event to remember. And finally, at 1430, we are able to flee from there. A just a lil reminder, the event is getting nearer and nearer so be there and there will be lots of fun and experience to gain from.

Signing off..

On Progress!!

We are on progress!! But, what’s the progress that they are talking about? You don’t have to guess, let the picture do the talking.

Hmmmmm…..posters….

Folding it…

COME ON!!?!?! A kite……? It can’t be it…

HUH??!??! A combination of kites with an additional “something” on it?

Still can’t see it eh??

A closer view perhaps…?

I bet you are curious. To find out what is it, come to our college hall to find out on as it will be at our meaningful event, “S.O.S Earth” on 11th & 12th August 2009 from 9.30 am to 5.00pm. Be there as you won’t want to miss it.

A Meet Up with E-Passion Advertising Enterprise

After Event Management lecture at DKABE, a total of 18 organising committees rush to V block to meet up with the premium supplier. And two hours later, we are to rush back to DKABD to attend another lecture.

Definitely a “rush hour” day.

However, when we reached the venue, we manage to catch our breath before the E-Passion personnel arrive. Few minutes later, Mr. Sean Long and Mr. Onn Yee Chien founder of E-Passion arrived and we welcome them with our warmest heart.
Now, do you know what E-Passion does? Heard on Anplas bag? The word Anplas itself brings a meaning which is anti-plastic. This company promote the environmentally-friendly, colourful and trendy, privileged bags.

In order to get the support from Anplas-Bag, S.O.S Earth organizer held a meeting with the two of its founders to negotiate on the amount and better ways in getting sponsorship for the non-woven bag. Mr Onn shared with us his opinion on the environment issue and also the reason behind the creation of ‘Anplas’. They believe that if more and more people use recyclable bag, the usage of plastic will decreased and when the demand is low, the society no longer need plastic bag which is hazardous to the environment.

We were very moved by the determination of both founders and we do hope to be able to bring in the Anplas bag into our event. Now, the problem is where do we find sponsor to sponsor for the bag? Discussion was held to seek for the best way in which we can achieve mutually beneficial for both parties. Are we able to get the sponsor? Is Anplas bag is going to appear in our event?

Here are a few pictures taken during the meeting.

The meeting held between the organizer and Anplas-bag founders Mr. Onn Yee Chien and Mr. Sean Leong in V block at Tunku Abdul Rahman College. Everyone is listening to Mr. Sean.
