First up, the OPENING CEREMONY. After 2 inspiring speech by both the Principal of Tunku Abdul Rahman College; Dr.Chik Heok and Head of School of Social Science and Humanities; Mr. Lee Hwee Chuin, the opening ceremony, lead by the one and only, Mr. Matthias Gelber, together with fellow Earth-Rangers to march in the hall chanting “S.O.S EARTH!”. The march shaken the whole hall as the impact of the loud chant echoed.

Marching in slow and loud with ongoing chants, Mr. Matthias held a plant that signifies the saving of trees or so to speak; the environment, marches on to the stage to join the awaiting principal; Dr. Tan Chik Heok on stage and together planting the plant on the globe that represents the Earth not forgetting a long list of VIPs consist of; Dato’ Ching founder of PASS, Callie Tai CEO of Justlife, Director of Truly Loving Campaign Mr. Khaw Chay Tee, Mr. Chong from Melsom, Mr. Ferdinand from WWF, Mr. Thevarajan from EPSM, lecturers, former students and even parents.
Moving on, the audience and VIP’s been pampered by a wonderful round of fashion show. Aren’t like any other, the clothes are specially made by our own students themselves; APR1, using recycled materials such as cans, used cloth, bottle caps, old newspapers and even plastic bags!! Honestly, we are amazed by what the outcome is as the designs are impressive. Applause to them. After all that, the exhibitions starts officially as the crowd starts filling in the hall.
After the glorious opening, the Principal; Dr. Tan Chik Heok, Mr. Lee and Mr. Matthias went around the hall to visit booth by booth where in sequence Forest, Land, Ocean, River and Air (FLORA). Accompanied by thorough explanation, the trio walked while listening to the students’ explanation.
Meanwhile, as the crowd starts enjoying the exhibition, we send off the VIPs as they have some others things on their schedule but not before they put a mark on our exit.
